Jeff Tondre, P.E., is now a Texas Registered Accessibility Specialist
It is our pleasure to report that Jeff Tondre, P.E. has received certification as
a Registered Accessibility Specialist (RSA #1201). The RSA designation indicates
that Jeff has a demonstrated understanding of the design criteria that promotes
accessibility for people with disabilities throughout our built environment. This
includes incorporating edge protection on ramps and creating accessible parking and
associated routes that connect to buildings and other facilities. In addition, and
in line with the City of San Antonio’s ADA pedestrian transition plan, Jeff has proven
expertise in ensuring ADA compliance for all new sidewalks and curb ramps.
To achieve certification, Jeff passed the 50 question, two-hour RAS Exam with greater than 80% accuracy. The RSA certification is administered by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). The TDLR is a state regulatory agency that currently oversees over twenty types of businesses, industries, trades and occupations. The agency is responsible for issuing licenses, conducting inspections, investigating complaints, assessing penalties, setting rules and standards and holding hearings[1].
Thanks Jeff for your commitment to enhancing accessibility in our built environment.
