Greater Chamber Honors Seven Women at the WOW Tribute Luncheon
On March 31st, 2010 at the Marriott Rivercenter Hotel, the Greater San Antonio Chamber of
Commerce presented seven spectacular women with awards recognizing their contributions in
business, community, and philanthropy. The event was part of the 2010 Women’s Opportunity
Week hosted by the Greater Chamber and Ford Motor Company and created by the Chamber four
years ago. As an award recipient, each woman selected a female college student enrolled in
a business or related degree to receive a $1,000 scholarship. The distinguished women include:
- State Rep. Ruth Jones McClendon, Legacy Award
- Marsha McCombs Shields of McCombs Automotive Group, Brenda Vickrey Johnson Executive Award for a large business
- Tracy Wolff of Green Fields Market, Brenda Vickrey Johnson Executive Award for a small business
- Dr. Ruth Berggren of the University of Texas Health Science Center, Hope Award for Professional Achievement
- Community Volunteer Marie Hall Smith, Hope Award for Volunteerism
- Fundraiser Debbie Montford, Hope Award for Philanthropic Fundraising
- Sonya Medina of Silver Eagle Distributors, Promise Award.
