	A.C.E. Mentoring The program's mission is to enlighten and increase the awareness of high school students to career opportunities in architecture, construction and engineering and related areas of the design and construction industry through mentoring; and to provide scholarship opportunities for students in an inclusive manner reflective of the diverse school population. ACE is a unique partnership among industry professionals — architects, interior designers, engineers, construction managers, college and university representatives, and other professionals from related corporations and professional organizations who work together to attract young people to their professions. Vickrey & Associates, Inc. and other Industry professionals volunteer to become mentors to high school students in order to introduce them to the professions and encourage them to pursue studies and careers in these fields. In return, the industry get a much-needed boost of new talent.
	CREW Careers CREW Careers™ is designed to open the eyes of teenage girls to the many career opportunities available to them in the commercial real estate industry. CREW Network chapters present programs locally, using one or more local real estate projects to illustrate all types of careers opportunities available in the commercial real estate industry. These programs are delivered in cooperation with a local girl's group such as Girls Inc. or Girl Scouts or with high schools. Launched in 2005, CREW Careers™ has since been implemented in 31 chapters, reaching nearly 3,000 girls and engaging over 2,400 CREW members! In 2008, CREW Careers: Building Opportunities® was recognized by Associations Advance America and given the Award of Excellence for moving America forward with innovative projects in skills training and development. 	Girls Inc. Girls Incorporated is a national research, education, and direct advocacy organization that inspires girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Programs based on research gathered at the Girls Inc. National Resource Center encourage girls ages 6 to 18 to take risks and master physical, intellectual, and emotional challenges. Vickrey & Associates, Inc. supports area girls through their participation in Girls Inc.
	TSPE Engineer for a Day Engineering firms in the San Antonio area sponsor high school students interested in engineering careers. The program allows the students to visit, observe, and ask questions of practicing engineers in their San Antonio offices. Vickrey & Associates, Inc. participates in Engineer for a Day each year. This year Vickrey hosted two participants. They spent the day at the office with several mentors.
	MATHCOUNTS MATHCOUNTS is a nationwide program that promotes math excellence for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students and combines the efforts of the education, business, government and the technological communities. It is a math skills coaching program based on higher thinking skills development with a series of progressive competitions at local, state and national levels. It motivates students to do well in math and recognizes and rewards them for achievement. The program also gives the math teachers an incentive to excel in their classrooms.
